How the chain works

  • • Each ledger row stores entry_hash = SHA256(prev_hash ‖ payload).
  • • The database forbids UPDATE and DELETE on the ledger table — entries are immutable.
  • • Rewriting any historical row would invalidate every subsequent hash, making tampering self-evident.
